Vintage aircraft (the DC-3 and the Connie) use non-directional beacons (NDB's) for navigation. Actually most modern aircraft does as well, but VOR navigation and more recently GPS navigation has replaced it. To navigate with this system, simply put the frequency for the beacon in your Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) receiver. Then fly in the direction of the indication. You can have two beacons in your ADF at once and triangulate. You can get paper charts, use online charts like vfrmap.com/, or use our route data available in this forum. As always if you have any questions, just ask.

AirMed has established a new base in Portland, Oregon. We make use of free add-on scenery for both fixed wing (turboprop and jet airplanes) and rotary win (helicopters) aircraft. We will have missions (flights) for all three types of aircraft. Fixed wing flies airport to airport transporting patients, tissues, or emergency supplies. Rotary wind flies between hospitals or to emergency scenes (most have helipads, some don't). Our first base in Cleveland, Ohio is still active and expanding. Missions are created by an experienced critical care paramedic/nurse for realism.

AirMed's second base is open for business in Portland, Oregon. Portland features lots of rotary wing landing sites, highly detailed airports for fixed wing flights, and beautiful sometimes challenging scenery. And it's a nice break from the passenger flight routine. But be careful, you not want to leave.

When you go into the "Pilot Actions" menu, there's an icon "Report Tour Leg". Click on that and it will have the tours, and each of the legs you can click on.
