Flight Simulator X is alive and well, and available on Steam
Steam tracks the amount of time you are using the program. The biggest advantage is, if you buy a new system or have to reformat your hard drive, it (and any add-ons you buy from Steam) automatically downloads and installs. No lost of scratched DVD's, no product codes.
They also have add-on aircraft, scenery, missions, etc for FSX, just compare prices before buying.
